Sun exposure can cause noticeable pigmentation changes, lines and wrinkle formation and even worse…SKIN CANCER. While it is tempting to go outside and enjoy the sun and warm weather, there are a few things you can do to keep the healthy, glowing skin you worked so hard to obtain this past fall and winter. It has been proven that free radicals cause cellular damage and changes to the skin’s pigmentation and texture. So what exactly are free radicals? Free radicals are unpaired electrons in our system that cause damage to our skin and other body organs. Noticeable signs of free radical damage include aging skin, inflammation and cancer. Our surrounding environment is filled with free radicals such as pollutants, cigarette smoke, food pesticides and herbicides, radiation and the sun’s harmful rays. All these free radicals have a cumulative effect on our body over time.

How do you fight and prevent free radical damage? Avoiding free radicals is probably the best option however it is not always possible or practical.
